Safety is a core value and is emphasized every day at Stryten Energy. Throughout June, employees across the company participated in activities focused on a variety of health and safety topics as part of National Safety Month. The purpose of National Safety Month, according to the National Safety Council, is to increase public awareness of safety in the workplace, stay updated with new safety measures and decrease the number of injuries in our homes and workplaces.
Voting on a Safety Slogan
Employees at the Lampeter facility received weekly information on safety topics. After taking a short quiz on the information, employees were entered into a drawing to win Stryten Energy swag.
In addition, there was a month-long competition to develop a safety slogan for use in the plant. The top three ideas were presented for a plantwide vote, and everyone will receive a shirt with the winning slogan.
Employees’ children also made safety posters on why they want their family members to be safe at work. These posters are now in frames and displayed around the facility, and the children who submitted posters also received prizes.
“Who Do You Work Safely For?”
Safety month kicked off in the Kansas City, Missouri, location with the official launch of “Good Catch,” a program that encouraged employees to identify and report good behavior, concerns, and improvement ideas.
Each week, members of the management team championed weekly informative booths with hands-on activities with topics such as the recognition of mental health, personal responsibility and workplace wellness, which included a safety pledge filled out by all employees.
The plant also created a “Who Do You Work Safely For” area in the breakroom where associates can bring in pictures of their loved ones, pets and others who are important to them.
Focusing on National Forklift Safety Day
June 14 is National Forklift Safety Day. Employees in the finishing department at the Kansas City, Kansas, facility conducted an audit of the plant’s forklifts. This audit included checking the proper functionality of the truck and water levels in the Stryten Energy Tubular LMX battery. The audit was successful and no issues were found.
We Look Out For Each Other At Stryten
Safety is not just a designated month. At Stryten Energy, we practice safety standards in our plants every minute of every day. There are no replacements for our people, so there are no substitutes for safety. Safety is always a priority, not just at work, but in everything we do.
