Students from Auburn, Emory and Georgia Tech learned about the company’s next-generation lead, lithium and vanadium flow battery technology.
Alpharetta, Ga., October 10, 2022 – In celebration of National Manufacturing Day, Stryten Energy LLC, a U.S.-based energy storage solutions provider, hosted a private tour of its Advanced Manufacturing Plant in Alpharetta, GA, for students of Auburn University, Emory University and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Students learned about three of the leading battery chemistries: lead, lithium and vanadium, and their role in the transition to clean energy sources. The tour included exploring Stryten Energy’s Vanadium Redox Flow Battery (VRFB) and its interaction with solar panels to maximize the capture of renewable energy and even support electrical vehicle (EV) charging. The students also learned about advancements in robotics for manufacturing automation, which help improve ergonomics and increase production capacity.
“National Manufacturing Day is an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience and see modern manufacturing at work is invaluable as they consider possible career options,” said Scott Childers, Vice President, Essential Power at Stryten Energy. “Energy storage is continuously evolving and playing a vital role in the move toward net-zero carbon emissions. It’s critical to foster the next generation of manufacturing leaders to keep advancing and innovating energy storage.”
National Manufacturing Day is an opportunity to inspire the next generation to start careers in modern manufacturing. With more than 2,500 employees across 10 manufacturing plants and three research and development centers in North America, Stryten Energy invests in and develops energy storage solutions that keep people on the move and supply chains running. Stryten Energy’s strong domestic supply chain is a testament to the fact that the U.S. can support a robust domestic battery manufacturing sector, which is critical to energy security and energy independence.
